Sat, November 7, 2009 - 6:08 PMHeh, well in the 1930's they had magazines devoted entirely to 'Zeppelin stories' as well as 'Submarine stories'.
Can you imagine subscribing to a magazine that was nothing but pictures of Zeppelins and stories about Zeppelin adventures? -

By the summer of 1936 the sales of Complete Zeppelin Stories approached those of Doc Savage, Love Story Magazine, and Western Story Magazine. As was common in pulp publishing, other publishers rushed to imitate success and churned out a number of zeppelin pulps, including Ace Magazine’s Zeppelins, Popular’s Dime Zeppelin Magazine, Red Circle’s Complete Zeppelin Detective Stories, Columbia Publications’ Flying Cowboy Stories, and, most absurdly, Culture Publications’ semi-pornographic Spicy Zeppelin Stories. Few of these pulps lasted long–Spicy Zeppelin Stories was such a failure it was cancelled after a single issue.... -
